President Obama is the first president to endorse gay marriages. In an interview with Robin Roberts of ABC, the president said, ‘I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talk to friends and family and neighbors when I think about the members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or Marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone because they are not able to commit themselves in marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.’
Jay-Z supports President Obama’s gay marriage endorsement, stating “I’ve always thought it as something that was still holding the country back,” Jay-Z told CNN in Philadelphia, where he announced the launch of the Made In America festival. “What people do in their own homes is their business, and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination, plain and simple.”
Will Smith applauds President Obama for endorsing gay marriages, saying ‘The question of whether gay people should be allowed to legally marry is about semantics,’ ‘if anybody can find someone to love them and to help them through this difficult thing we call life, I support that in any shape or form.’
MY OPINION: First of all, I do not believe that President Obama has endorsed gay marriages whole-heartedly, but instead, I believe he has endorsed gay marriages to please the gay community so he could gain their votes and win the upcoming election.
Secondly, I don’t care what any one does in their own homes, behind closed doors, as long as it doesn’t involve harming a human being or animal, but I do not support gay marriages. I believe being gay is a state of mind and a personal choice, it’s not something like a race as Jay-Z stated. Your race is something you can’t change, being gay is a whole nother’ thing. It’s a choice! I have gay love ones, family members and friends and it’s a choice, not something you’re born with.
Third, I have heard people state that they were born gay or that they were molested or whatever so that’s all they know well, I still don’t believe being gay is something you’re born with, it’s not a disease or a race so, no it’s not something you’re born with. As human being, yes we have a choice to be gay or not, but it’s not normal and it’s not something that allows reproduction, so it’s not natural. Period!
